Crowd Funding, PR Comms Takes a Deft Hand to Reach the Right Audience

Crowd Funding is not the future of raising capital for private companies, it is the present. Thanks to the J.O.B.S. Act, non-accredited investors can now participate in investing in companies they were previously prohibited from buying shares in.

Knowing how to communicate to this audience takes a deft hand. The following link is a Q&A I did with Crowd Fund Insider (http://bit.ly/2cy6LbD). In in, I discuss how KCSA (www.kcsa.com) worked with our client, The Legion M (www.thelegionM.com) to use a mix of PR and social tactics to raise the company's profile, target specific potential investors and encourage them to take the leap an participate in the Title III round.

A few key things to think about when working with a PR firm while raising funds via crowd funding:

1- Does your PR firm understand the rules related to the J.O.B.S. Act around crowd funding?

2- Does your firm understand your potential audience who may be interested in investing in your company?

3- Does your firm have a track record of success in helping companies use strategic communications for crowd funding campaign?

4- Do you like the team you'll be working with?

All important questions to ask...and not just when you are looking to find a PR firm to help you launch a J.O.B.S. Act crowd funding campaign.

Nice, creative approach! Most companies do not understand the benefit of effective PR and that it is not free.
