Amazon RDS for SQL Server Increases the Database Limit Per Database Instance up to 100
Starting today, Amazon RDS for SQL Server supports up to a maximum of 100 databases per database instance. The Microsoft system databases, such as master and model, don’t count toward this limit.
Existing database instances can support up to 100 databases without any downtime. The new database limit is an increase from 30 databases and will depend on the instance class and availability type.
This increase allows you to consolidate databases into a single database instance and simplify database management. You can see the exact limits by instance size and availability type by referring to the Amazon RDS SQL Server User Guide.
